Supervisory Interdisciplinary Scientist
The position of Supervisory Interdisciplinary Scientist falls under the 0401/0403 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-14, you must meet all requirements by 11:

For GS-0401, Biologist:
A. A degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. -OR- B. Combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. For GS-0403, Microbiologist:
A. A degree in microbiology; or biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included at least 20 semester hours in microbiology and other subjects related to the study of microorganisms, and 20 semester hours in the physical and mathematical sciences combining course work in organic chemistry or biochemistry, physics, and college algebra, or their equivalent. -OR- B. A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to meeting basic requirements for the Supervisory Interdisciplinary Scientist GS-14, you must meet the following specialized
Experience:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade of GS-13 or equivalent band level of responsibility in the Federal Service that demonstrates your ability directly related to the position to be filled which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies in leading technical and administrative programs; directing and evaluating method validation data using highly complex instrumentation; providing guidance on laboratory research, operations, science policies, procedures and quality management functions.
