Qualifications:
In order to be eligible for the position of CHEMIST, (GS-1320-12), applicants must posses the Basic Requirement AND Specialized Experience as follows:
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
A. Have a bachelor's degree in physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics. (You must submit transcripts at time of application submission that demonstrates the required coursework noted above.) OR B. Have a combination of education and experience that included course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (You must submit transcripts at time of application submission that demonstrates the required coursework noted above.) In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement stated above, applicants must possess the following

Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade of GS 11 or equivalent band level of responsibility in the federal service designing, implementing, and evaluating chemical based programs, projects and/or experiments. Experience utilizing analytical instruments such as Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC-MS), gas chromatography mass spectrometers (GC-MS). Experience participating in scientific review groups or teams to evaluate chemical science activities to include using statistical methods to analyze and evaluate scientific data to support conclusions. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
