Supervisory Mathematical Statistician
The position of Supervisory Mathematical Statistician falls under the 1529 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-15, you must either of the Basic Requirement AND meet the Minimum Qualifications as follows:
Basic Requirements A. Have a bachelor's degree that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics. OR B. Have a combination of education and experience -- at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. NOTE:

Experience:
Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade of GS-14 or equivalent band level of responsibility in the Federal service managing/providing leadership direction to a staff in the areas of administrative, technical, human resources and/or furthering the goals of equal employment opportunity. Experience conducting statistical research; supervising or leading a team in research activities of statistics and/or biostatistics in the conception and formulation of ideas or approaches.
